Baby Shower cake
thought the baby deer and paisley would look really nice in pinks and browns for a baby shower cake.
12 (more) Days of Christmas
A slight variation on the 12 days I posted before. I am very please with how they all turned out and really like the white writing on the white cake.
12 Days of Christmas
A set of 4" cakes decorated to represent the 12 Days of Christmas. I take a lot of samples of new recipes to where my sister works so they love my baking. For their Christmas party my sister wanted a small cake for each employee to take home. This is one set of the 4 that were made.
Dora Cake
Thought I would try something a little different for this Dora cake then the usual big dora as I have done before. The process is a bit time consuming but so worth it for the final result.
Pony Cake
For a 5th Birthday of a little girl who loves Pinkie Pie. Cake was carved from a 12x18 sheet cake and had 30 matching cupcakes. Even the cake inside was pink :)
Buttercream Wedding Cake
I don't do a lot of stuff in just buttercream, so was a little scared of an all buttercream wedding cake. I think it turned out great. It was also my first time using real flowers on a cake.
80's Cake
80's themed cake for a 30th birthday. This is one of my favorite cakes and was so much fun to do! All decorations made of fondant.
Transformer Cake
For a 5 year old boy's birthday. He was very excited to be able to eat optimus prime :)
Happy Birthday to Me
My very tall 9 layer Rum and Butter Pecan cake for my own birthday. A good excuse to have some fun and try something new.
Tinkerbell Doll Cake
The first Tinkerbell I did was a huge hit with all my friends daughters so here is a second attempt at it.

Betty Boop
For a 16 year old girl who loves Betty Boop and Marilyn Monroe. Very pleased with how this cake turned out.
Floral Birthday Cake
For my best friend Tricia's birthday. Thought I would try some accents in black and really loved it.

My first Wedding Cake!!

My sister's father in law just turned 68. His wife requested a harley themed cake. He just bought this new 2010 street glide in spiced rum and that is what this cake is based off...minus the biker babe. He couldn't believe that it looked like his bike and couldn't figure out how I did it considering he just bought the bike and noone had seen it yet....gotta love the internet.
Wedding cake...test run.
So a friend at work asked me to make her wedding cake for her in july. She has a recipe she loves so I needed to try it out. I made a test layer to see how it worked out. This is 'Died-and-gone-to-heaven' cake and khalua filling with buttercream frosting and fondant. It was a great success, I can't wait to do the cake in july.
What to make for a 50 year old fly fisherman???
So my sister's inlaws were on a 101 day cruise and missed out on all the grandkids birthdays.
To celebrate their home coming, they had one big party and she asked for one big cake. Her 11 year old did the basic design for the cake. I added a few special elements for each of them on the cake too, to make it special. I was mostly happy with this cake but it is a bit sloppy and I wish i had done better with the fondant.
